Coconut oil for dogs have been one of the secrets of many dog owners, me included, to keep their pets healthy. I’ve been using coconut oil for dog’s skin for a year now and I realized that there is a huge difference with my dog’s skin and hair since I started using it for my dog. So, today, I want to share some of the benefits of coconut oil for dogs according to my own experience.
Coconut Oil: Wonder Product for Dogs
You may be asking the same question- is coconut oil good for dogs? With the use of coconut oil, benefits for dogs can be summed up to over-all body health of the dog, from head to toe, internal to external. It maybe a cliché when they say that dogs are men’s best friend but there’s truth to that saying. I love taking care of my dog because she takes care of me like a friend. Good thing coconut oil will help me in aiding her needs. Now, my dog is happier and healthier.
For My Pet’s Skin Care
One of the many obvious uses of coconut oil is that it can be used for dogs’ skin care. I personally love to use coconut oil for eczema and skin allergies on my dog. What I do is I use it like her moisturizer or replacement for other topical ointment. So, after washing my dog with its favorite shampoo and conditioner, I apply a little amount of coconut oil to the problem areas. Sometimes, I dab a small cotton ball into the coconut oil and rub it to the roots of its hair. I realized that it helps heal the dryness of pet’s skin. I realized that my dog doesn’t scratch her skin too much because coconut oil can heal itchy skin caused by allergic reactions. It also speeds up the healing process of skin wounds because it acts like disinfectant.
Aid to Hair Growth
Since I’ve been using coconut oil to achieve clear skin for my dog, I realized that it also aids to her hair growth. I know that pet owners love to hug and enjoy the fluffy hair of dogs. What’s good about coconut oil is that it keeps their hair healthy because it acts like a hair treatment. It keeps the hair moisturized and because it is organic, it has no harmful preservatives that can cause dryness to dog’s hair. Since I started using coconut oil, my dog’s hairs become so healthy and soft. This is because coconut oil acts as a cure to severe hair loss that is so common to dogs. My dog usually has bald spots caused by dandruff and skin dryness. Upon using coconut oil, it helps the roots of the hair go back to its healthy state, thus, allowing hair growth. Now, my dog has less to no bald spots.
